Jesse T. McCann MD PhD 

Dr McCann started his scientific training as a polymer chemist working with nanotechnology to improve lives. After finishing his PhD in Materials Chemistry at the University of Washington he completed a medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. It was in medical school that Dr. McCann traveled to India on a project to alleviate child blindness and his passion for ophthalmology was awakened. After training in internal Medicine at Greenwich Hospital (part of Yale University) he completed his ophthalmology training at NYU. This was followed by fellowship training in retina surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat hospital and Columbia University. While practicing as a retina surgeon in Florida he continues to volunteer with Retina Global doing outreach missions in Bolivia.
